Dr Michael Lamantia
Principal Dentist
Dr Michael Lamantia graduated from the University of Sydney and was honoured to receive the Dr John Mayne Prize for Excellence in Endodontics. He has a special interest in Endodontics and Oral Surgery and has pursued extensive continuing education courses in both fields to further enhance his skills. In 2019, he completed a Graduate Diploma in Dental Implants from Charles Sturt University.
Michael takes great pride in delivering clinical excellence whilst ensuring patients feel comfortable and relaxed throughout their treatment experience.
Cristiane Pessato
Associate Dentist
Cristiane graduated as a Dentist at Pontificia University Cattolica in her hometown of Port Alegre in the South of Brazil and moved to Rio de Janeiro where she post graduated as a Paediatric Dentist in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
Cristiane moved to Australia in 2002 and completed her accreditation by the Australian Dental Council in 2008. Cristiane worked in government clinics in Western Australia and has been working in private practice since 2013.
“I am a dentist who sees the patient as a whole and likes to give awareness of how to prevent the diseases of tooth decay and gum disease”.
Cristiane’s philosophy is one of prevention and enjoys all fields of dentistry from early childhood to the older generation providing world class dentistry to her patients.
Cristiane also extends her interests into aesthetics-creating a new smile with simple solutions and paediatric (children’s) dentistry where “I introduce the dental world in a positive and fun experience which will last for a lifetime”
Cristiane enjoys an active lifestyle and can be often found in the gym, practicing yoga, body boarding and walking the lighthouse in Byron Bay. As well as developing her inner self with practices of daily meditation, reading and soul searching.
Kathryn Corner
Dental Hygienist
Kathryn graduated from Niagra College Canada in 2007 with honours and on the President’s Honour Roll. Kathryn’s 15 years of clinical experience was gained working in private practice treating patients of all ages, initially in Canada and then in New Zealand where she treated advanced periodontal disease.
Kathryn loves meeting new people and gets deep satisfaction from educating her patients and finding ways to motivate them to care for their oral health.
“Kathryn is proficient with our Air-Flow machine exclusively used in our hygiene surgery. Air-Flow treatment also known as (Guided Biofilm Therapy) uses a fine spray of warmed water and powder to gently deep clean the tooth surface above and below the gum line. Airflow is suitable for anyone looking for healthier teeth, healthier gums and a brighter smile. From light staining to more severe stains, orthodontic (braces) appliances, implant maintenance and one of the best treatments available today for treating and managing gum disease.
Her love of the ocean means Kathryn is delighted to be in Ballina with all it has to offer. In her spare time Kathryn enjoys being by the ocean and playing in the sand with her kids, sewing, painting and anything crafty.
